Hello, I am Tag (ane) Hayama 𓇼

I am a biomedical illustrator and information designer based between New York City and Tokyo.
why
My hope is to create good work that informs public conversation and aid people in conducting better lives. I use my visual toolbox for health promotion and enhancement of scientific literacy in a clarified, accessible, and (sometimes) beautiful way.
about
My education is in Medical Illustration and Health Communications, with curriculum including epidemiology, pathophysiology, biostatistics, immunology, GIS and spatial analysis, toxicology, public relations writing, campaign management and planning, disease awareness and prevention, and gross anatomy. I am additionally growing my skills in data visualization (R & D3.js) and wrangling (R & SQL) through mentorship with the Data Visualization Society.
I enjoy the process of data research, collection, and analysis, especially as it pertains to the intersection of human health, policy, and environment.
